FALL FESTIVAL SET FOR OCTOBER 10
Craft show, live music, hayrides, petting zoo, scarecrows, pumpkins and more!
Wheaton, Ill., September 28, 2015 — The Cantigny Fall Festival, one of the park’s most popular annual events, is Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 am to 4 pm.
Festival admission is free with paid parking ($5 per vehicle). Attractions, activities and entertainment include:
- Craft show
- Pumpkin decorating
- Hayrides & petting zoo
- Music by Dave Eno (10 am & 2 pm)
- Face painting
- Miss Jamie & The Farmhands (11 am, 1 pm & 3 pm)
- Juggling show (12 pm)
- Stilt walking (12:30-4 pm)
- Children’s craft project (while supplies last)
- Inflatables
- Plant sales (while supplies last)
- Children’s book fair
A nominal fee applies to some activities: face painting, children’s craft, petting zoo, hayrides and pumpkin decorating. Details are online at Cantigny.org.
In the gardens, families will enjoy finding 75 original scarecrows, lovingly created by Cantigny horticulture staff and volunteers. The scarecrows and fall plantings offer outstanding photo opportunities!
Seasonal treats and festival-style food will be available at outside concession stands and inside the Visitors Center at Bertie’s Coffee Shop. Le Jardin, adjacent to Bertie’s, will serve lunch from 11 am to 3 pm.
The Cantigny Shop, also inside the Visitors Center, will feature a wide assortment of fall décor items and other new arrivals. Fresh Cantigny honey will be available, too! Shop hours are 9 am to 5:30 pm.
Cantigny is open every day through October from 7 am to dusk. Hours are 9 am to dusk in November and December. Annual memberships starting at $50 include unlimited free parking and other benefits.
