Lifestyle's Launch Party

Date: March 3, 2016 Time: 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Event Description Wheaton, IL (February 22, 2016)  The first issue of Lifestyle, The Community Source Book for the Western Suburbs, a new guide to Chicago?s western suburbs, is finishing it's targeted distribution this week. The Lifestyle Launch Party plans are underway with a benefit for the NEDSRA* on March 3, 2016 6-9pm at Cooper?s Corner 27W150 Roosevelt Rd in Winfield. Pre-party press conference, champagne toast, passed hors d?oeuvres, tropical theme, incredible silent auction and lots of networking with key community leaders and new homeowners. Truly, A neighborly welcoming! We?ve added to the tropical theme with live music having the incredible steel drums perfor-mance by Ken Tarnsbarger. His background includes events at the Shedd Aquarium, The Field Museum, NorthWestern University Law School, Notre Dame University, University of Chicago, Medina Country Club, CME Group and the Wrigley Building. Lifestyle, the Community Source Book for the Western Suburbs, provides information on 45 communities, covering all of DuPage and a bit of Kane County. The magazines content includes details on schools, transportation, demographics, housing, family-oriented activities and more. These are of interest to people considering moving into the area. It also features resources for home and garden professionals, a resource recommending health and wellness professionals in the area and professional and personal services that newcomers would want to access. ?We started out with a magazine in the north and northwest suburbs and now are producing one for the western suburbs of Chicago and the city of Chicago?s neighborhoods, ? says Candice Kuhnen, publisher of Lifestyle and President/CEO of ABC Communications. ?We decided we wanted to capture something beyond the facts and figures--- something more personable, we asked the area key community leaders, the Mayors/Presidents, if they could tell newcomers why they enjoy their community so our readers have more insight into these communities.? ?We hope to encourage more people to write responses for future issues,? said Richard Greb, editor. ?We?ll collect them on our website LifestyleSuburbs.com building a file of thoughts, people moving in can look at.? The website will also contain an expanded calendar of events. ?It will be as complete as we can make it and go forward at least six months so everyone can plan in advance.? says Kuhnen. ?There are people in our communities who aren?t aware of the great things going on just a few miles away. There?s so much to do and see. Our calendar will have social, business/networking and charity events listed with contact information. One addition to the website will be the test scores which were not available upon publication. The facts and figures, however, are not neglected. ?There?s a wealth of information available ? everything from the school?s enrollment, class sizes and expenditures per pupil to real estate housing units, values and percentage of difference from last year to transportation routes to downtown and both O?Hare and Midway airports, to Governance phone numbers and break down on demographics including population, median age, average family income, houses of worship for all 45 communities and on and on,? says Greb. The challenge is finding it. We?re providing all this information in one place.? Adds Kuhnen, ?We have a lot of people to thank for making Lifestyle possible. We received suburb cooperation from officials in the communities, park districts, and libraries, and at the Chamber of Commerce. We also drew information from the state, counties, townships and businesses.? Kuhnen, a life-long resident of the North Shore, has recently relocated to Wheaton and publishing Lifestyle for the western suburbs has been the best resource for her to get situated. She has more than 33 years in helping clients with advertising, publishing and public relations. She specializes in well-designed and produced publications, which have included publications for the Chicago Yacht Club?s Race to Mac and the Chicago Yachting Association?s annual seasonal wrap-up for the season with activities by the area yacht clubs called the CYA?s Yachting In Chicago. Ravinia Festivals summer program, Annual Guide for the Arts, and high-end advertising vehicles such as her Premier Edition catalog, Shore, the Art of Midwest Living. I Inspire magazine was created and produced for a North Shore doctor to encourage entrepreneurship. Ms. Kuhnen is now working to create Lifestyle, the neighborhood source book for the city of Chicago and revive Lifestyle, the Community Source Book for the North and Northwest Suburbs, which was last published in 2008. Kuhnen was offered an opportunity to work on more face-to-face marketing programs and created a progressive dinner bringing those who live in the community together with those who work in the community together called ?Party on the Parkway.? She plans to host several ?Party on the Parkway?s in the western suburbs this spring, summer and fall 2016. -End- * NEDSRA (Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association) has been offering award-winning programs since 1977.
