Love, Compassion, and Enlightenment: Art, Science, and Meditation

Date: February 17, 2011 Time: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Event Description Enjoy a lecture on the Tibeto-Mongolian tradition of generating the universal mind of love and compassion. Examples of the visual art and a discussion of some of the science behind this Central Asian culture will round out the evening.

Glenn H. Mullin (Ngakpa Maitri Zopa) studied Tibetan language, literature, meditation and yoga under the great masters, including the two late great gurus of the present Dalai Lama. Author of over thirty books on Central Asian Buddhism and presently living in Mongolia, Glenn is the chief fund-raiser in the effort to restore the home of the Russian-born New York artist, Nicholas Roerich, and transform it into the Shambhala Museum and Art Institute. Roerich became the first Buddhist to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize (1929) and his ?Roerich Peace Pact? was signed by President Roosevelt and 25 world leaders in 1935.

Please join Glenn for Mantra, Tantra, and Mandala: A Day of Meditation, Yoga, and Discourse on February 19. See Weekend Workshops.
