Mantra, Tantra, and Mandala: A Day of Meditation, Yoga, and Discourse

Date: February 19, 2011 Time: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Event Description This one-day session will explore the threefold tantra meditation known as Rigsum Gompo, or The Three Enlightenment Natures: Compassion, Wisdom, and Power. These three natures are represented by the three great bodhisattvas: Lokeshvara, Manjushri, and Vajrapani. Every Central Asian temple has paintings or statues of this trinity somewhere in its collection, and all Central Asians practice the meditations and mantras associated with them. Meditation on these three qualities brings not only enlightenment, but healing for self and others, and a transformation of the world around us.

Glenn H. Mullin (Ngakpa Maitri Zopa) studied Tibetan language, literature, meditation, and yoga under the great masters, including the two late great gurus of the present Dalai Lama. Glenn received the lineage from Kyabje Ling Dorjechang, the senior guru to the Dalai Lama, in the mid-1970s.
