Essential oils can aid in bringing relief from stress, anxiety, depression, and mental fatigue. We will explore many essential oils that will respond to your body’s built in alarm system.
The proper use of essential oils will help to neutralize a threat the body is experiencing and help it to return to normal. They can be used aromatically or topically.
When you smell an essential oil, the olfactory receptors in your nose immediately respond and send signals to your brain, which promotes dynamic physiological changes. These signals are sent to the limbic system – the part of your brain which is involved in emotions and memories, and the neo-cortex where conscious thoughts originate. This experience can positively impact and modify your mood, moving you from one state of mind to another.
