LOMBARD-The DuPage County Health Department and the Village of Lombard are offering free CPR and AED training from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 in Lombard. The training is part of the Health Department's Start The Heart Initiative.
The training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated electronic defibrillation (AED) takes 45 minutes and a new session will start every 15 minutes.
The free instruction is not limited to Lombard residents. The training is called "Chain of Survival Basic Training" and is designed to give lay persons a basic knowledge of how to respond if they witness sudden cardiac arrest. All instructors are volunteers. The training is part of the Health Department's Start The Heart Initiative.
