Visual Arts Workshop: Peruvian Gourdaments

Date: December 13, 2014 Time: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Event Description The Community School of the Arts at Wheaton College (CSA) offers a visual arts workshop teaching Peruvian Gourdament art. Creating art from gourds is one of the oldest art forms in Peru, handed down from the early Inca Indians. Saturday's workshop allows participants to create Peruvian Gourdaments using the traditional animal or geometric patterns with paints and wood burning tools. CSA Visual Arts faculty member Jennifer Nagle will lead the workshop. Nagle has been on staff since 2001. She has a background in painting and ceramics and enjoys learning the history and arts from other cultures and incorporating them into her own work. The afternoon class is designed for high school to adult.
