Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Event Description
The Wheaton College Community School of the Arts (CSA) presents an evening of music performed by Vivaldi Strings. CSA's string ensemble performs under the direction of Julie Maura Bickel. The group consists of 26 advanced violinists, violists, cellists and pianists ages 11-17 that have been trained through the Suzuki method, some beginning as young as 3 years old. The group has toured in Europe, Asia, Canada and the US as well as performing at local venues including the Symphony Center, Drury Lane, Paramount Theater and Chicago-area TV affiliates. The program includes music by Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart and Shostakovich, as well as familiar toe-tapping favorites "Hoedown from Rodeo" and "Orange Blossom Special." Vivaldi Springs will present this same program as they travel to Japan this summer.
