Event Description Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church is hosting a free ?Community Outreach Concert? on Sunday afternoon, October 26, 2014 at 2 pm. The church is located at 0S501 Summit Drive in Winfield, just north of Roosevelt Road and west of Winfield Road. Admission to the concert is FREE and everyone is welcome. The concert is being held in conjunction with the church?s 50th Anniversary in Winfield and is being underwritten by Thrivent Financial, a full-service financial management firm providing world-class financial products to members. The concert will feature the Wheaton College Men?s Glee Club Choral Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Mary Hopper, Professor of Choral Music and Director of Performance Studies at the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music. Before coming to Wheaton College in 1979, Dr. Hopper taught both junior high and high school choral music in the Chicago area and choral conducting and voice at the University of Minnesota. Also an active church musician, she has served in several parishes and is currently Minister of Music at Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Warrenville, IL. The Wheaton College Men?s Glee Club is an experience steeped in tradition. Now in its 105th year, the ensemble provides audiences both local and abroad a unique combination of Christian witness, musical vitality, and esprit de corps. Whether it be a lively spiritual, a Bach motet, a Russian hymn, a catchy secular song or as much-loved anthem in the Christian tradition, the Glee Club?s musical diversity will be sure to have something for everyone.
