Parents' Morning Out Program Director Job Summary
Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton is seeking an experienced Director for an early childhood program that serves children two to three years old. The responsibilities would be to oversee daily operations of the program including staff management, program development, budgeting and financial planning and ensuring compliance with DCFS regulations. The PMO program is offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9 to 11:30 a.m., with the goal of expansion in 2026-2027. The Director reports to the interim Board and Director of Christian Education.
Director Requirements and Qualifications

Director Requirements and Qualifications
- Preferred two years of professional experience in an early childhood setting
- Minimum of an associate degree in child development or early childhood education
- Either an Illinois Director Credential or three points of credential approved training in administration, leadership or management
- Skilled in evaluating community needs
- Familiar with writing grant proposals
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Must pass a background check and maintain AED/CPR certification
- Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Classes run September through May (Some summertime hours for correspondence and program preparation for the following school year) - Supervise and support staff
- Enrollment and registration of students
- Develop and manage budget
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations
- Develop and maintain relationships with parents and provide ongoing communication
- Oversee promotion and publicity
- Work with interim board to develop and expand the program
- Other duties as assigned
