about us
St. Paul Lutheran Church has been serving the Wheaton community since September 18, 1927. We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), which is part of a global communion of 77 million Lutherans (to learn more about Lutherans around the world, click here). As “evangelical” Lutherans, our focus is on proclaiming the good news, the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the heart of Lutheran theology. We seek to be faithful to the gospel, while addressing the ever-changing contemporary situations in society.
St. Paul is a “Reconciling in Christ” congregation in the Metro Chicago Synod of the ELCA. We welcome all who are seeking God’s love and grace. We welcome all because God welcomes all, regardless of race or culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or relationship status. We welcome all without regard to addictions, physical or mental health, imprisonment, social or economic circumstances, or anything that too often divides us. Our unity is in Christ.
