During the summer months, the need for blood is great. Walk-ins are welcome at the blood drive on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2-6 p.m. at Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton. You can also plan ahead and register at garychurch.org. For every pint donated, you can save up to three lives. At the church’s last blood drive, 22 people registered, 20 people gave 23 units, and up to 57 lives were saved. The next blood drive is scheduled for Nov. 20.

Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main Street, Wheaton, offers 9 a.m. summer Sunday worship, complete with Kids’ Church and nursery care, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at garychurch.org. At 10 a.m., you can enjoy a coffee hour called “Special Blend.” Gary Church will resume its 10 a.m. Sunday School hour for all ages and 11:11 a.m. worship on Sunday, Sept. 8. With deep roots in the community since 1853, Gary Church has vibrant music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions.
