WHEATON, Ill. – Wheaton residents who experienced flood damage can now apply for assistance with storm-related losses through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Assistance is available in the form of grants to individuals and households to help with temporary housing; home repairs or replacement and other disaster-related expenses; as well as low-interest SBA loans to residents and businesses.

In addition to previously announced registration online and by phone, today FEMA also opened a Disaster Recovery Center in Lisle where you can apply for assistance in-person.

You can apply for assistance in any of these ways:

  1. In-person: FEMA set up a Disaster Recovery Center at the Lisle Police Department, 5040 Lincoln Ave. The Disaster Recovery Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, including weekends, until further notice.
  2. Online: Register online at www.disasterassistance.gov
  3. By phone: Call the Federal Emergency Management Agency at 1-800-621-FEMA.
Assistance offered via the Disaster Recovery Center is identical to assistance available to residents who register by phone or internet.
