William Schultz Appointed Wheaton Fire Chief
WHEATON, Ill. – Wheaton City Manager Donald Rose has appointed William R. Schultz to the position of Fire Chief in the City of Wheaton effective June 3, 2013. Chief Schultz replaces current Fire Chief Greg Berk, who will be retiring on May 31.
Chief Schultz currently serves as Wheaton’s Deputy Fire Chief and has been employed by the City since January of 2003. In January of 2003, Chief Schultz was appointed to the position of Battalion Chief in the City’s Fire Department. In May of 2006, Chief Schultz was appointed to the position of Deputy Fire Chief. His prior employment was with the Village of Hazel Crest, Ill., where he was employed for 12 years.
Chief Schultz possesses a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Governor’s State University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Management from Southern Illinois University.
