Gary UMC in Wheaton to offer a pet blessing Oct. 8
All people and all pets (stuffed animals too) are welcome to a special pet blessing at Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 3 p.m. in the church’s courtyard. This brief worship followed by prayer and a blessing of each critter is both a celebration of God's good creation and a reminder that God calls us to be caring stewards of that creation. If you can’t attend the worship, the Rev. Daniel Cochran will be available to pray and bless your pets until 4:30 p.m. The pet blessing will happen rain or shine in the courtyard.
Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main Street, Wheaton, offers 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday worship in the sanctuary. The 9 a.m. worship is complete with Kids’ Church and nursery care, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at garychurch.org. The 11 a.m. worship has a more casual feel featuring church musicians. Sunday School for all ages starts at 10 a.m., plus you can enjoy a coffee hour called “Special Blend.” With deep roots in the community since 1853, Gary Church has vibrant music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions.
