Celebrating Cancer Survivorship

Saturday, June 4
Northwestern Medicine Field
34W002 Cherry Lane, Geneva, Illinois 60134

Day of Registration Begins at 8 am
Opening Ceremony at 8:30 am

Join us on Saturday, June 4, to celebrate cancer survivors. The celebration will feature a walk and 5K run, with a fun-packed festival after!

We hope you will celebrate with us by becoming a participant or a sponsor of Bridge Walk. Your support will help fund important services for patients with cancer and their families at LivingWell Cancer Resource Center, part of Northwestern Medicine.

Each year, thousands of people receive compassionate care from LivingWell programs that empower, encourage, support and offer hope to patients and families as they face cancer. Services include counseling, support groups, nutrition education, yoga and fitness classes, art instruction, massages and medical updates — all provided at no cost.

For the first time in Bridge Walk history, we are offering a chip-timed 5K run. If you want to learn your 5K finish time, be sure to select the Runner option during registration so you will be assigned a bib number.

Jun 17    Drive, Drop & Donate Shred & Electronic Recycle Event
Recycle electronics and shred documents during DuPage Credit Union’s Ninth Annual Drive, Drop & Donate event to benefit DuPage County students in need Friday, June 17 at its Naperville Operations Center, 1515 Bond Street.

Electronic Recycling and Document Shredding provided by Citadel:

  • Electronic Recycling – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Sensitive Document Shredding – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The donation to shred or recycle is $10 per service, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the Credit Union’s We’ve Got Your Back fundraiser to help local students in need. Both cash and credit will be accepted; please place cash in an envelope.

For your safety and the safety of the credit union team, those dropping off items are asked to please remain in their vehicles and have recyclables in their trunks.

“The past few years have been especially hard on local families’ pocketbooks,” said Amy Brandt, Senior Vice President of Digital, Payment and Learning Transformation. “Our goal is to help alleviate some of the financial stress associated with back to school shopping and making sure local students in need have the supplies they need to succeed in the classroom.”

Last year, the credit union raised $7,100 during its Drive, Drop & Donate event.

One hundred percent of the funds raised will be used to purchase supply kits and backpacks.  The supplies will be given out to students before the start of the 2022-2023 school year at the annual Back to School Fair held at the DuPage County Fairgrounds on August 10.

“Drive, Drop & Donate will take place, come rain or shine,” Brandt added, “hope to see you there.”

Gerald Subaru of Naperville is the sponsor of Drive, Drop & Donate. To learn more, view a list of acceptable items or to make a donation to We’ve Got Your Back, visit dupagecu.com/DDD.

Jun 28    Women In Business Committee Business After Hours
The Women in Business Committee invites you to come and bring a friend to this "Business After Hours" networking event.

Women who are members of this committee place great value on the relationships they develop with other businesswomen. Because of those relationships they accomplish great things together and grow their business while also developing professionally.

There are opportunities to:
  • Expand your network to include more Chamber members, especially women, and connect with Women In Business groups in neighboring chambers.
  • Develop relationships with other businesses as you learn more about them
  • Make connections and promote partnerships between Chamber members
  • Contribute to the development of programs and events which focus on the particular needs and interests of women in business.
